Abraham Meyer

Abraham Dustin Meyer, age 31, died Thursday November 26, 2009 as the result of an automobile accident in Nemaha County, Kansas.


He was born on July 31, 1978 in Lincoln, Nebraska, the son of Donald and Marianne (Addeo) Meyer. He graduated from Bern High School in 1996 and earned his bachelors degree from Kansas State University in 2006. He was owner of A. Meyer Construction, Zotcis Attire and Cartridge World, all of Manhattan.


Abe was united in marriage to Sara Strothman on August 29, 2005 in Las Vegas. This union was blessed with a son: Kellen John Meyer and they were all excited about the approaching arrival of daughter: Sophia Abrianna Meyer in early December.


He loved fishing, hunting, farming, construction, frisbee golf, poker, entertaining and above all being with his loving family and friends.


Abe is survived by his wife Sara, son: Kellen John and expected daughter: Sophia Abrianna, all of the home; his parents: Donald and Marianne Meyer, Sabetha, Kansas; brother: Eric Root and his wife Theresa of Troy, Kansas and their children: Owen & AnnaMarie Root; his paternal grandparents: Fremond and Ruth Meyer of Sabetha, Kansas and his maternal grandmother: Anna M. Addeo of Greensburg, PA. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends, too numerous to mention.


Memorial Services will be 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday December 1, 2009 at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home, Manhattan, Kansas with Steven Avery officiating. Private inurnment will be at a later date. Additional Services will be 10:30 a.m. on Thursday December 3, 2009 at the Popkess Mortuary 823 Virginia, Sabetha, Kansas 66534 with Steven Avery officiating. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Kellen John and Sophia Abrianna Meyer Education Fund in care of the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home 1616 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, Kansas 66502 or the Popkess Mortuary 823 Virginia, Sabetha, Kansas 66534.
