Berline M. Trickel, 98, of Seneca, KS passed away in Evergreen CO on March 31, 2010. Berline was born in Vermillion, KS on Aug. 15, 1911. A graduate of Blue Rapids HS, Berline spent 66 of her years as a resident of Kansas, the last 37 in Seneca. Berline was a member of the Eastern Star, receiving her 50-year pin. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Seneca. She was an avid bridge player and golfer, playing until she was 90 years old. Thank you to all of the people of Seneca who viewed Berline as a golfing partner, a bridge partner, and a friend. "Life is about relationships - the ones we establish, the ones we nurture, and the ones we maintain."
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Trickel; four brothers, Arlo, Bert, Collis, and Hyland; and three sisters, Mary, Kennia, and Leithia.
She is survived by three sisters, Olive, Lucrenia, and Ilene; her son, Don and Judy Trickel of Evergreen, CO; grandchildren Mindy, Julie and Devin; and great-grandchildren, Cassidy, Dakota, Seth, and Symon.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Seneca, KS. The family will greet friends one hour prior to service time. Berline will lie in repose at the Popkess Mortuary in Seneca from 12:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Internment will take place at the Vermillion Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Evans Hospice, 3081 Bergen Peak Drive, Evergreen, Colorado 80439, sent in care of the funeral home.
