Berniece Edelman

B erniece Katherine Edelman, 87 of Sabetha died Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at the Sabetha Hospital.

She was born on December 22, 1924 the daughter of Alphia Edelman and Emma (Stahl) Edelman at Sabetha, Kansas.  She grew up in the Sabetha area.  She did domestic work in Sabetha, Peoria, Illinois and Portland, Oregon.  She worked for Midway Café and later Buzz Café making pies.  She enjoyed reading, baking and sewing.  She was a member of the Christian Apostolic Church for many years.  She has spent the last years of her life in the Apostolic Christian Home apartments.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Clemens Edelman.  She is survived by five brothers, Orin Edelman, Leonard Edelman, Nathan Edelman all of Sabetha, Richard Edelman of Beloit, Kansas and Eugene Edelman of Sabetha; three sisters, Karoline Edelman, Lena Edelman and Doris Meyer all of Sabetha and numerous nephews and nieces.

Funeral service will be Friday, December 21, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Christian Apostolic Church in Sabetha.  A visitation will be Thursday evening 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Popkess Mortuary Chapel in Sabetha.  The interment will be made in the Sabetha Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Nemaha County Home Health & Hospice or the Apostolic Christian Home sent in care of the funeral home.
