Betty Lou Allen

Betty Lou Allen, 90, of Sabetha, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at the Sabetha Manor in Sabetha.

Betty was born on October 7, 1934, in Sabetha, Kansas, the youngest daughter of Henry William Hartman and Gertrude M. (Gakle) Hartman. She grew up northwest of Fairview, Kansas, and graduated from Fairview High School in 1952. Betty worked at Mid America Dairymen, Inc. in Sabetha. 

Betty was united in marriage to James Jerome Allen on November 3, 1963, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fairview. After their marriage, Betty and Jerome settled on a farm north of Sabetha, where they raised their two children. As a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Betty had a deep faith and cherished her church community. 

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerome, on January 21, 2004; her three sisters, Edith Mize, Mary Ellen Bauerle, and Ruth Manche; and an infant brother. 

Betty is survived by her son, Rodney (Theresa) Allen of Sabetha; her daughter, DeeAnn (Gary) Fangman of Seneca, Kansas; and her granddaughter, Nicole Fangman of Topeka, Kansas. 

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fairview, Kansas. A visitation will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Popkess Mortuary Chapel in Sabetha. Interment will be made in the Albany Cemetery, north of Sabetha, following the funeral service.
