Carlos Tibbits
August 15, 1918 — December 26, 2007
Carlos L. Tibbetts was born on August 15, 1918 the son of Ellsworth Tibbetts and Zelma Peckham Tibbetts at Du Bois, Nebraska.
He grew up in the Du Bois area and attended Du Bois schools and graduated from Du Bois High school in 1936. He did odd jobs in the Du Bois area and the surrounding town and area. He entered the United States Army in 1943 serving in World War II and in Korea. He was discharged in 1963.
Carlos died on December 26, 2007 at the Aldersgate Village in Topeka, Kansas at the age of 89. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Donald Tibbetts and Derrald Tibbetts; threes sisters, Zelma Abbatt, Eva Westerman and Neva Tibbetts. He is survived by a sister, Gwendolyn Mangnall of Pawnee City, Nebraska and a niece, Rita Gaston and her husband Norm of Topeka, Kansas.
Graveside services will Monday, December 31, 2007 at 1:30 P.M. at the Pawnee City, Nebraska Cemetery. Memorial contribution may be made to the Midland Hospice in Topeka, Kansas. The Popkess Mortuary in Sabetha is in charge arrangements.
