Carol Hill

Carol Joyce Hill, 61, of Sabetha died Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Stormont-Vail Health Center in Topeka, Kansas.

Carol was born August 30, 1950 in Axtell, Kansas, the daughter of William and Barbara (Dean) Hill.  Shortly after her birth the family moved to Riverside, California.  While in California Carol attended the Sunshine School for Cerebral Palsy, and was the cerebral palsy poster child.  The family moved back to Axtell in 1962.  Carol attended school in Axtell up to the ninth grade.  She worked at the Beattie Workshop doing various task including making crafts which were sold.  In 2008 Carol moved to Cobblestone Court in Sabetha after her mother Barbara passed away.  Her time at Cobblestone was brief due to illness and eventually moved to the Sabetha Manor.  Carol always enjoyed being around people and being part of the Methodist Church in Sabetha.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, William (1990) and Barbara (2008); and one brother, James William Hill (2007).

She is survived by two brothers, Mike (Les) Hill of Sabetha, and Bob Hill; one sister, Tina (Rodney) Nightingale of Pawnee City, Nebraska; several nieces and nephews, as well as many friends.

Memorial services will be Monday, June 11, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Sabetha.  The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.  Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund, sent in care of the funeral home, 823 Virginia, Sabetha, KS 66534.
