Carrie Dawdy

Carrie Dawdy, 47, passed away on June 26, 2023, at home surrounded by family.

She was born on January 22, 1976, to Nick and Dannie (Young) Scott at Emporia, Kansas.  She has an older brother, Nick Scott from Phoenix, Arizona.  She also has an older sister Anita Gillette.  In her younger years, she lived in many places and gained several lifelong friends in the schools she attended.

Carrie married Alex Dawdy on September 19, 1998.  To this union were born two sons, Cullin currently living by Tenkiller Lake near Tahlequah, Oklahoma and Blaine currently living in Kansas City, Kansas.

Carrie learned to be a C.N.A. in high school and worked in several nursing homes for many years.  She also was an Uber driver and house keeper. 

Carrie liked to fill her time making candles, quilting, crocheting, and cross stich.  Annually she would organize the quilt show at Old Albany Days.

A unique funeral service will be held Saturday, July 29, 2023, at 4:00 P.M. at the NorthRidge Church in Sabetha.  Carrie was cremated.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the Albany Historical Society and the Blankets of Love-NorthRidge Church sent in care of Popkess Mortuary, 823 Virginia, Sabetha, Kansas 66534.
