Chester Lee Johnstone

Chester Lee Johnstone, 66, of Sabetha, Kansas passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2022, while walking home from downtown Sabetha.  Chester was born in Sabetha, Kansas on March 9, 1956, to James Milburn Johnstone and Rosie May (Banks) Johnstone.

Chester attended school in Sabetha.  After being away for a few years, Chester returned to Sabetha to care for his mother in her last days.  He worked at Buzz Café in Sabetha and made many friends around town.  He attended the First United Methodist Church in Sabetha.

Chester was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Timothy Lange.

Chester is survived by his siblings, William (Kathy) Johnstone of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Emma (Michael) Mattwaoshshe of Horton, Kansas, and Ruth (David) Lange of Apache Junction, Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 14, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Sabetha, Kansas.  Inurnment will be in the Sabetha Cemetery.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the First United Methodist Church and to the VFW Post 7285 in Sabetha, Kansas.
