Clara Reid

Clara Maurine Reid, 90, of Sabetha, Kansas passed away Saturday, June 30, 2012 at the Apostolic Christian Home in Sabetha. She was born on June 27, 1922 to John H. and Louisa P. (Nohl) Shadel.
She graduated from Sabetha High School with the class of 1940. She served as bookkeeper at several implement companies in the Sabetha area, and several years as the Sabetha City Clerk.
Maurine was united in marriage to Patrick C. Reid on October 18, 1941. He preceded her in death in 1953. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a sister and a granddaughter.
She is survived by her children, Patricia Herrmann of Herington, KS, Mike Reid (Cheryl) of Chanute, KS, Ann Barrett (Dave) of Sabetha, KS, Steve Reid (Linda) of Duncanville, TX and ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Maurine is also survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sabetha. A parish rosary will be recited on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. The inurnment will be made in the Sabetha Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church or the Apostolic Christian Home in Sabetha sent in care of the Popkess Mortuary in Sabetha.
