D ale G. Dannels, age 90, of Key Largo, Florida and formerly of Vermillion, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Monday night, December 17, 2018 at his home in Key Largo.
Dale was born August 17, 1928 in Kimball, Nebraska to Roy and Eva (Schaffer) Dannels. He farmed and raised livestock on his own land in the area of Vermillion, Kansas until the year 1969 when he moved to Venice, Florida and became a stock broker and had a long, successful career. Dale spent his retirement enjoying time in Kansas, Florida and Maine. The last few years of his retirement were spent living in his home by the ocean in Key Largo near his son, Mark Dannels.
He is preceded in death by his father, Roy Dannels; his mother, Eva Dannels; and his daughter, Debra Jo Dannels.
He is survived by his sons, Doug and daughter-in-law, Kathy of Douglasville, Georgia, and Mark of Key Largo, Florida; grandson’s, Miko and his wife, Tamala of Los Angeles, California, and Kyler and his wife Larissa of Atlanta, Georgia; a granddaughter, Azure Rose of San Jose, California; two great grandsons; his brother, Duane Dannels of Titusville, Florida; and nephews, Kirk and Van Dannels also of Florida.
A Memorial and Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at the Vermillion United Methodist Church in Vermillion, Kansas. Inurnment will be made in the Vermillion Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Friends of Vermillion, sent in care of Popkess Mortuary, 823 Virginia Street, Sabetha, KS 66534.
