aniel K. “Hammer” Gartner, 56, of Lincoln, Nebraska passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2014.
Dan was born in Seneca, Kansas to Ray and Sue (Chandler) Gartner. He graduated from Bern High School in 1975. Dan worked for Bennett and Keim Trucking and retired from Union Pacific Railroad.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Kent, Steve, and Terry.
Survivors include his son, Kerry; grandson, Dylan, both of Lincoln, NE; step-daughter, Chandra Heiman, Hanover, KS; companion, Jan Graham, Lincoln, NE; ex-wife, Cathy Pence, Lincoln, NE and Mary Jueneman, Hanover,KS; sisters, Cindy Du Bois (Don)Topeka, KS, Janice Lowe (William) Hiawatha, KS; and Tammy Bauerle (David) Wakarusa, KS; one brother, Chris Gartner (Sherry) Hiawatha, KS; and nieces, nephews, and many friends.
The family will greet friends Monday, May 5, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Popkess Mortuary in Sabetha.
