Darwin Allen

D arwin Eugene Allen, 83, of Burkburnett, Texas and formally of Oneida, Kansas died Monday, January 13, 2014.  He was born on November 1, 1930 the son of James Clifton Allen and Edith Belle (Davis) Allen in Oneida, Kansas.  He proudly served his country in the United State Air Force prior to his retirement.

Darwin is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sharon “Skip” Allen; a son, Rocky Allen; two grandsons, Joshua Swearingen and Rocky Buckley; a great grandson, Kelly Virdell.  He is survived by his three daughters, Deni Swearingen and her husband, Larry of Burkburnett, Texas, Terrie Cribbs and her husband, Bill of Wichita Falls, Texas and Amy Ketchum and her husband, Mike of Paradise, Texas; three sons, Randy Allen of Wichita Falls, Texas, Rick Allen and his wife, Karen of Wichita Falls, Texas and Rusty Allen and his wife, Anita of Wichita Falls, Texas; two brothers, Rex Allen and his wife, Marie of Denver, Colorado and Howard Allen and his wife, Frances of Oneida, Kansas; two sisters, Betty Hoover of Sabetha, Kansas and Marie Jones and her husband, Dave of Ozawkie, Kansas and 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Friday, January 17, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Popkess Mortuary Chapel in Sabetha.  A family visitation will be Thursday evening 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Popkess Mortuary Chapel in Sabetha.  The interment will be made in the Oneida Cemetery with military honors.
