Dolly Leuze

D olly Marie Leuze, 87, of Omaha, NE, formerly of Sabetha passed away Friday, June 20, 2014.

Dolly was born on August 27, 1926 in DuBois, NE the daughter of Ray and Ruth (Lanius) Halbert.

Dolly graduated from Honey Creek High School in 1944. She married her husband LeRoy on September 9, 1943. They were married for 52 years when LeRoy died.  Dolly worked for Southwestern Bell in Sabetha before moving to Topeka, Ks where she continued to work for Southwestern Bell until she retired in 1985 with over 30 years of service. After her husband’s death in 1995, she lived in various places before settling in Omaha, Nebraska where she died.

Dolly was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, LeRoy Leuze on April 15, 1995; a brother, Howard Halbert; and a granddaughter, Michelle Leuze.  Survivors include her children, Ronald Leuze of Topeka, KS, Karen Fitzsimmons (Mike) of Wichita, KS, Joan Wendt of Topeka, KS, D’Ann Ball (Tim Franta)  of Wichita, KS and John Leuze   (Shari) of Omaha Neb; a sister, Bertha Helen Nahkuast of Denver, CO; 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

Graveside service is Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Sabetha Cemetery.  The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the Popkess Mortuary in Sabetha.  Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, sent in care of the funeral home, 823 Virginia, Sabetha, KS 66534.
