Donald "Buck" Wayne Windle

Donald Wayne “Buck” Windle, 95, of Sabetha, Kansas, passed peacefully to his heavenly home on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at the Apostolic Christian Nursing Home in Sabetha.

Donald was born on a farm near Salem, Nebraska, on June 26, 1930, to William and Nancy (Meyer) Windle. Buck attended the Honey Creek School for all 12 years of schooling and graduated in 1948. On May 29, 1955, Buck married Georgia Morris in Bern, Kansas, and eight children were born to this union. The couple established their home in the rural Sabetha area before moving into Sabetha in 1966.

Donald worked on the family farm with his father until his father’s death. He then worked for various farmers in the Sabetha area until 1991, when his health began to decline. In his free time, Buck enjoyed playing cards with anyone who would sit down, especially with the guys at the Odd Fellows Club in Humboldt, Nebraska, where he was a member for 75 years. Before moving to the Apostolic Christian Home, Buck could be found socializing in many of the communities surrounding Sabetha. He will be remembered for his quick wit and for always having candy and cookies for the great-grandchildren.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Lila and Joyce; his infant children, Donnie and Gina; his daughter, Sandra Kistner; his son-in-law, Andy Trent; his grandson, Barry Windle; and a granddaughter and great-granddaughter at birth.

Donald is survived by his children, Debbie Trent, Roger (Susan) Windle, Tanya (Rusty) Zeigler, Kim (Jeff) Feighner, and Scott (Rosa) Windle; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a brother, Harry “Lee” Windle; and a sister, Natalie (Don) Puett.
