Donna Fenske

August 9, 1948 — November 9, 2021

D onna Dee (Farson) Fenske of Pawnee City, Nebraska, passed away on November 9, 2021, peacefully surround by her family.

Donna Dee, or Dee, or Deedee, as she was known by many, was born on August 9, 1948 in Nebraska City, Nebraska to Donald and Gayle Farson.  She graduated from Nebraska City High School in 1966 and went on to graduate from Peru State University where she earned her degree to be a teacher.

After a short time in Texas where Dee began her family and career, the family moved to Iowa and Dee began working as a Teacher for the Glennwood School District, where she touched the lives of many during her nearly 30 years as a teacher.  She taught a few different grades at the elementary level, and then went back to Peru State to earn her Masters degree.  To finish her career, she was the science teacher for the 4th and 5th graders, something she really enjoyed.

Dee and Harlan Fenske, originally high school sweethearts, married and began their lives together in 2004 with their dog, Jamy.  They quickly realized they needed to retire so they could keep up with their many activities.  She would say that she never had such a social life as she did after her retirement, and she loved the family she gained.  Together, they enjoyed attending car shows, traveling to see their children, and especially enjoyed all the time they spent with their grandchildren.  They spent time wintering in Texas near the Rio Frio River and spending summers on their pontoon boat at Perry Lake in Kansas.

Dee also enjoyed playing Bridge with her friends in Pawnee City, sewing with her friends in Texas, and gardening at her home.

Dee is survived by her husband, Harlan of Pawnee City, NE; son, Jason (Dana) Lovejoy of Corvallis, OR; daughters Jill (John) Connolly of Woodland Park, CO; and Amy (Troy) Peterson of Weatherford, TX; and her grandchildren Katherine Connolly and William Peterson.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Don and Gayle Farson.

The world has lost a wonderful, kind, loving woman.
