Dorene Zimmerschied

Dorene M. Zimmerschied was born on September 27, 1917 the daughter of Walter Semkin and Emma Schulz Semkin at Morgan County, Missouri. She was one of five children born to this union. She attended rural school at Florence, Missouri. She was united in marriage to John Henry Zimmerschied on September 17, 1939 at Sedalia, Missouri. Three children were born to this union. Dorene and John lived in the Morrill area all of there married years. Dorene was a member of the Morrill Baptist Church. While living in the Morrill area she enjoyed her friends and her coffee group every much.


Dorene died on July 27, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, Ohio at the age of 90. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters and her husband, John Henry Zimmerschied on November 27, 1973. She is survived by one daughter, Sue Robinson of Manhattan, Kansas; two sons, Ray Zimmerschied and his wife, Patty of Huber Hts., Ohio and Larry Zimmerschied and his wife, Jackie at Ponca City, Oklahoma; one sister, Lavera Harrell and her husband, Bud of Sedalia, Missouri; one brother, Leonard Semkin and his wife, Betty of Smithton, Missouri and 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.


Funeral services will be Saturday, August 2, 2008 at 10:30 A.M. at the Popkess Mortuary Chapel in Sabetha. A family visitation will be Friday evening 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Popkess Mortuary Chapel in Sabetha. The interment will be made in the Morrill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Morrill Baptist Church or the My Bible-A-Month Club sent in care of the funeral home.
