Doris Melo

D oris Jean Melo, 90, of Sabetha, Kansas formerly of Fayetteville, North Carolina died Sunday, January 21, 2018 at the Sabetha Community Hospital.

Doris was born March 17, 1927 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Earl and Melinda (Peppler) Poling.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Thomas I. Melo, Sr.; two sisters; three brothers; and a daughter-in-law, Judy Melo.

She is survived by two daughters, Sharron (Doug) Clark and Donna (Alan) Thagard, both of Sabetha, Kansas; one son, Thomas I. Melo, Jr. of Enterprise, Alabama; four grandchildren, Marla (Brent) Hayden and Wendy (John) Menold, both of Sabetha, Kansas, Alan (Britany) Thagard, Jr. of O’Fallon, Missouri, and Thomas Thagard of Gardner, Kansas; and seven great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at a later date in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
