Earl Hightower

Earl A. Hightower, 95, of Bern, went to be with his Lord on Monday, September 3, 2007.
He was born January 31, 1912, in Dayton, New Mexico to Howard and Dona Hightower.
On June 9, 1935, 72 years ago, he married Maude E. "Maudie" Jerome. She survives of the home in Sabetha.
Other survivors include their children, Ray and wife, Marlene Hightower of Manhattan; Stanley and wife, Janice Hightower of Loveland, Colorado; Nancy and husband, Philip Swille of Grand Junction, Colorado; and Janie and husband, Bill Glace of Sabetha; 11 Grandchildren and 23 Great-Grandchildren; his twin, Emet and wife, Kathyrn Hightower of Centralia, Kansas and younger brother, Russell Hightower of Van Nuys, California.
Celebration of Life service will be Friday, September 7, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at the Bern United Methodist Church. The inurnment will be in the Bern Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Bern American Legion Post #326. Memorial contribution may be made to the Bern Community Support Foundation or the K.S.U. Foundation for Assistant Dean Ray and Marlene Hightower Scholarship Fund of Engineering Students sent in care of the Popkess Mortuary in Sabetha.
