Emma Magdaline (Beer) Edelman, 97, died at The Apostolic Christian Home in Sabetha, Kansas on Sept 15, 2010. She was born on July 2, 1913 to John and Julia Mae (Foster) Beer. On April 17, 1935 she married George Edelman in Hiawatha, Kansas, and to this union 5 children were born. They lived and farmed all their married life in the Honey Creek Community. She enjoyed gardening, vegetables and flowers, and helping George with the cattle.
She was a member of the Zion Evangelical and Reformed United Church of Christ of rural Dawson, Nebraska.  She served as an officer in the Women's Guild. After her husband died she moved to Sabetha, Kansas in 1977.
She especially enjoyed visits from her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great granddaughter. Emma was preceded in death by her husband, George; one daughter, Nelda; her parents; 2 brothers, Freddie and Alvy Beer; two sisters, Ruth Arick and Normalee Beer.
Survivors include two daughters, Rose (Raymond) Ruzicka of Blair, Nebraska, Glenda (Bill) Richardson of Alexandria, Minnesota; two sons, Melvin Edelman and Duey (Kay) Edelman, both of Sabetha, Kansas; 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter; one sister, Helen Feek, Sabetha and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will Monday, September 20, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Sabetha Cemetery. Pastor Charles Robinson will officiate. Casket bearers are Curt Boren, Mark Boren, Graham Edelman, Morey Edelman, Myron Edelman, Steve Richardson and Randy Ruzicka. A visitation will be Sunday September 19, 2010 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the Popkess Mortuary in Sabetha, Kansas. Memorials maybe made to the Apostolic Christian Home or the charity of donors choice.
