Esther Terry

Esther Marie Terry was born on November 3, 1917 the daughter of Henry L. Roth and Martha Ann Farney Roth at Kiowa, Kansas. She grew up in Kiowa area and attended the Kiowa schools and graduated in 1935. She worked a number of years as a Clinic Nurse at the Kiowa District Hospital and was also a homemaker. She was united in marriage to Charles W. Terry on September 9, 1939 at Kiowa, Kansas. Two daughters were born to this union. In 1987 they moved to Sabetha, Kansas to live in the Apostolic Christian Village.


Esther died on March 2, 2009 at the Apostolic Christian Home in Sabetha at the age of 91. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles W. Terry on December 17, 1997; a brother, Raymond Roth; a sister, Delma Zigenhorn. She is survived by two daughters, Eleanor Miller and her husband, Chris of Peoria, Illinois and Rita Ann Meyer and her husband, Delwin of Sabetha, Kansas; two sisters, Leona M. Weyeneth of Roanoke, Illinois and Helen E. Murrow of Kiowa, Kansas and 2 step grandchildren, 6 step great grandchildren and 3 step great great grandchildren.


Funeral services will be Saturday, March 7, 2009 at 10:30 A.M. at the Apostolic Christian Church in Sabetha. Visitation will be Friday evening 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Popkess Mortuary Chapel in Sabetha. The interment will be in the Sabetha Cemetery. Memorial contribution may be made to the Apostolic Christian Home in Sabetha sent in care of the funeral home.
