Evelyn Margaret McFall, 96, of Sabetha, Kansas died Thursday, October 5, 2023, at the Life Care Center in Seneca, Kansas.
Evelyn was born July 17, 1927, at Oneida, Kansas, the daughter of Walter W. and Stella Mae (Lancaster) Heiniger. She attended Union Dale Grade School, Oneida High School, and graduated from Sabetha High School in 1945. During her senior year of high school, she cared for her aunt, Louise Gartner, and her grandparents, Gottfried and Anna Heiniger.
Evelyn attended the Oneida Methodist Church where she served as Sunday School teacher, pianist, W.S.C. President, and she also helped at the Seneca Methodist Church in Seneca. Evelyn later joined the 1st Congregational Church in Sabetha.
Evelyn had various jobs through the years, and she was also a wife and mother. She worked at the Nemaha Coop Creamery, Nemaha County Extension Office, Nemaha County Treasurer, deputy probate judge under Judge Riffer, bookkeeper for Gresham Grain in Oneida, Kansas, the Sabetha Clinic, and then, worked at Wenger Manufacturing for 24 years. She was a member of the W.W. Club of Oneida, leader for the Busy Jayhawkers 4-H Club, B.P.W., Lioness Club, and she was a real estate agent for many years.
Evelyn was united in marriage to Marvin H. McFall on June 3, 1945, at Sabetha, Kansas.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, Emma Louise (Hess) Heiniger; her husband, Marvin; her three sisters, Stella Mavis Lucas, Virginia Ann Bauman, and her infant sister, Wilma Jean Heiniger; and her two grandsons, Kevin Toth and Rudy McFall.
Evelyn is survived by her four sons, Marvin (Jean) W. McFall of Onieda, Kansas, Danny (Debbie) McFall of Lebanon, Tennessee, Ronny (Nancy) McFall of Derby, Kansas, and Richard (Melissa) McFall of Wichita, Kansas; her daughter, Edna (Larry) M. Toth of Nicholson, Georgia; her 18 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
