Fern Little

F ern Evelyn (Armstrong) Little, 94 of Centralia passed away March 8, 2014 at Eastridge Nursing Home.  She was born January 2, 1920 at the home of her parents Grace and Roy Armstrong. After graduating from Centralia High School, she attended Stewarts Beauty Academy in 1938-39.

On October 14, 1940 she married Leslie Little and the couple had two children, Ronald and Joan.  Fern and Leslie farmed together for 12 years until she returned to her former vocation.  She worked as a beautician in Centralia for 40 years until retirement at age 72.  She was a member of the Congregational Church UCC and Womens Fellowship.  She served as a deaconess for many years and a Sunday school teacher for 10 years.  Working and spending time with the children was a great joy.

Preceding her in death were her parents, an infant sister, Bernice Ella, an infant great granddaughter, Latisha and her husband, Leslie.  She is survived by her children, Ronald (Arlene) and Joan; two grandchildren, Jeffrey (Maggie) and Ange; six great grandchildren, Shawn, Ashlyne, Dakota, Hunter, Cherokee and Axel all of Centralia.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Centralia Community Church East.  Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. also at the church.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Centralia Public Library and the Centralia Community Church.
