Frank DeBusk

October 20, 1942 — November 5, 2011

Frank W. DeBusk, of Sabetha, formerly of Beattie died Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas from heart failure.

He was born in Morrill, Kansas on October 20, 1942, one of nine children of Ben and Odie (Ball) DeBusk. After leaving high school, Frank began a long career as an over-the-road truck driver, until a heart attack in 1992 took him out of the driver’s seat. Too stubborn to take it easy, Frank continued to work for Charlie Loiseau of Charlie’s Construction in Frankfort, Kansas and later Bob Hoffman of Hoffman Trucking in Wamego, until health issues forced him to retire in 2006. Frank relocated earlier this year from Beattie, Kansas, where he had lived since 1986, to Sabetha to be closer to family.

Frank married Denise Meister in 1975. To this union two daughters were born. They later divorced.

Survivors include daughters, Sidney (Jason) Lang of Sabetha, and Shawn Hulsing of Seneca; two brothers, Barney and Charles DeBusk both of Morrill; three sisters, Lavon Beach of Morrill, Ruby Boyce and Rose Stephenson both of Oklahoma; three grand children, Aiden Lang, Alivia Lang, and Byren Hulsing; and a faithful furry companion, Zoey.

Preceding Frank in death were his parents; two brothers, Jess and Tillman; and a sister, May Titus.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Popkess Mortuary in Sabetha. Family will greet friends and family Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. A memorial has not yet been designated at this date, but donations may be sent to Frank DeBusk memorial fund in care of Popkess Mortuary.
