Fred Allen

June 17, 1946 — December 16, 2008

Frederick "Fred" R. Allen was born on June 17, 1946 the son of James Clifton Allen and Edith Bell Davis Allen at Oneida, Kansas. He attended Oneida Grade School and then attended the Seneca High School. He worked for the Farmers CO-OP Elevator in Sabetha then was maintenance man for M.B.P in Rock Port, Missouri and Cornland Beef in Lexington, Nebraska. He was united in marriage to Janice Meyer on September 6, 1966. To this union was born five sons. Fred was an avid fisherman, hunter and boater and enjoyed running bank lines and always enjoyed a good card game. He especially enjoyed spending time with his sons and grandchildren activities.


Fred died on December 16, 2008 at the Bryan Lincoln General Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 62. He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandchild; three brothers, Harold Allen, Bill Allen and Jerome Allen. He is survived by his wife Janice of Nemaha, Nebraska; five sons, Kevin Allen and his friend, Heidi of Cozad, Nebraska, Ed Allen and his wife, Sara of Humboldt, Nebraska, Travis Allen and his wife, Jill of Beatrice, Nebraska, Jeremy Allen and his wife, Jill of Nemaha, Nebraska and David Meyer and his wife, Kelly of Lillington, North Carolina; three brothers, Howard Allen of Oneida, Kansas, Darwin Allen of Burkburnett, Texas, Rex Allen of Lakewood, Colorado; three sisters, Betty Hoover of Belvue, Kansas, Marie Jones of Ozawkie, Kansas and Kathy Hough of Beloit, Wisconsin; 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.


Funeral services will be Friday evening 7:00 P.M. at the Popkess Mortuary Chapel in Sabetha. A family visitation will be Friday 5:30 to service time. Memorial contribution may be made to a fund yet to be designated. Inurnment will be at a later date and time at the Oneida
Cemetery.
