Gaynall Fangman

G aynall Rosalie Fangman died on February 3, 2014 at the Sabetha Manor. Gaynall Norrie was born February 3, 1938 in Sabetha, Kansas, the daughter of Glen and Mildred (Line) Norrie. She went to Fairview and Sabetha schools and graduated from Sabetha High School in 1956.  She married Raymond Frank Hackler and three children were born from this union: Roger, Rex , and Natalie. Frank and Gaynall were later divorced.  Gaynall took art classes at different area schools and continued to paint and draw her whole life, even having a painting of hers displayed in a federal building in Washington DC. During the time when her children were in school, she worked as a teacher's aide at Hiawatha Elementary School and as a cashier at Tice Drugs. Gaynall owned the Eat N Time cafe on Highway 36 in Fairview for many years and enjoyed restaurant work. She married Carlton Buzz Fangman in 1986 and moved to Seneca to enjoy farm life there. After his death she moved back to Sabetha. A lover of animals, crafts, and cooking, she will be sorely missed by many.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Mildred Norrie, her husbands Frank Hackler and Carlton Fangman, and her sons Roger and Rex Hackler. She is survived by her daughter Natalie Hackler, Chicago, IL, her daughter in law Nancy Hackler, Miltonvale, KS, her sisters Glenna Scoby and husband Don, Fargo, ND, Nancy Norrie, McPherson, KS, her granddaughters Brielle, Caty, and Lacey, and her great grandchildren Michael, Storm, and Zoey.

Services will be Saturday, February 15, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. at the Hiawatha Methodist Church, 410 Hiawatha Avenue.  The interment will be made in the Sabetha Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to a fund yet to be designated.  The Popkess Mortuary, 823 Virginia Sabetha, Kansas is in charge of arrangements.
