Harmon Brady

H armon Ray Brady, 65, of Centralia, Kansas passed away Friday, December 4, 2020 at the Eastridge Nursing Facility in Centralia due to complications from Covid-19.

Harmon was born on March 5, 1955 to Johnny and Laura Buckbee. When his father Johnny passed away after a long illness, he was adopted at the age of 9 by Howard and Betty Brady of Lyons, Kansas, who his sister Carol was already living with. In Harmon’s senior year at Lyons High School, he left to join the U.S. Navy. He served during Vietnam stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii aboard the USS Bryce Canyon (AD-36) raising to the Rank of E-2 Seaman Apprentice on May 8, 1973. He was discharged from the U.S. Navy on November 20, 1974. After discharge, Harmon moved back to Lyons, Kansas where he held numerous jobs in the area until settling down at the Lyons Salt Plant where he worked for seventeen years.

Harmon has been living in the Eastridge Nursing Facility in Centralia, Kansas for the past ten years.

He was preceded in death by his natural father and mother, Johnny and Laura Buckbee; his adopted father and mother, Howard and Betty Brady; and his sister, Carol Jean Romans.

He is survived by his brother, Boyd Loutsenhizer and his wife, Barb and their sons, Brian and Brandon Loutsenhizer of Alden, Kansas; his brother, Tom Brady and his wife, Clydia of Lyons, Kansas and numerous cousins.

Harmon chose to be cremated. A Graveside Service with military honors will be held at the Beans Cemetery in Little River, Kansas on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 2:30 p.m. with V.F.W. Chaplain, Tom Brady officiating.
