Harold Bauerle

Harold W. Bauerle, 86, was born on May 15, 1925 at Fairview, Kansas the son of Paul Albert Bauerle and Lydia R. (Duesing) Bauerle. Harold was baptized into the Fairview St. Paul's Lutheran Church on June 21, 1925 and was confirmed on May 28, 1939 at the Fairview St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He attended and graduated from Fairview High School in 1943. Harold was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Hartman on July 17, 1949. Four children were born to this union. Harold was a lifelong farmer and dairyman until his retirement. After retirement he worked part time at Wenger Manufacturing in Sabetha. He was a member of the Head Quarters Battery National Guard in Hiawatha, Kansas. Harold enjoyed working in his garden and working with flowers. Harold and Mary Ellen received several Soil Conservation Awards, Bankers Awards, Good Year Award and Balanced Farming Award. Harold was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and held different duties for the church, Sunday school superintendent chairman, elder and trustee.
Harold died on May 21, 2011 at the Sabetha Community Hospital at the age of 86. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Lydia; infant twin brother and sister and two brothers, Marvin Bauerle on April of 1994 and Edgar Bauerle in June of 1992. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen of the home; two daughters, Glenna Strahm and her husband, Roderick of Sabetha and Joyce Corwin and her husband, Terry of McPherson, Kansas; two sons, Larry Bauerle and his wife, Jane of Sabetha and Gary Bauerle and his wife, Marcia of Sabetha and 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the Fairview St. Paul's Lutheran Church. A visitation will be one hour before service time at the church. The interment will be made in the Sabetha Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Sabetha Manor or the Sabetha Community Hospital sent in care of the Popkess Mortuary in Sabetha.
