Harold "Bill" Schleif Jr.

Harold "Bill" William Schleif Jr. 72, of Corning, KS died Thursday, July 21, 2011 at the Eastridge Care Home in Centralia, KS.

He was born January 3, 1939 at Corning, KS to Harold W. Schleif Sr. and Helen Tomlinson Schleif. He graduated from Corning High School in 1957.

He married Joan Ford and to this union was born two sons, Thomas and Timothy. In 1982 Joan and Harold divorced.

Harold was a member of the United Methodist Church in Corning and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.

He is survived by two sons, Tom Schleif of Corning and Tim Schleif of Topeka; a grandson, Garrett William Schleif of Hoyt; three Aunts, Francis Johnstone of Centralia, Sarah Brown of Wetmore and Joan Schleif of Wamego; 3 nieces and 2 nephews and his best friend and companion, his dog, Chocolate.

Graveside Memorial services will be Thursday, July 28, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the Corning Cemetery. Rev. Michael McKee will conduct the services. Inurnment will be in the Corning Cemetery.

Memorials are being left to the Harold W. Schleif Memorial Fund. A specific memorial will be designated at a later date.
