Helen (Stoller) Scoby, of Sabetha, Kansas died Monday, May 28, 2012 at the age of 86. Helen was born to Robert and Martha (Imthurn) Stoller on May 3, 1926 on a farm six miles south of Sabetha.
Helen attended Pleasant Hill country school for seven grades and then attended Sabetha Junior High and Sabetha High School, graduating in 1944.
She attended Clark Secretarial School in Topeka before working at the Kansas Book Company for six years.
Helen married Arthur Scoby on April 8, 1951 and they lived on a farm northeast of Sabetha where they raised three children.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Betty Barrick; a brother, Glen Stoller, and a daughter-in-law, Louise Scoby.
She is survived by her husband Art of the home; two sons, Jim Scoby of Morrill and Larry Scoby of Phoenix, Arizona; a daughter, Jane (Scoby) Riedl (Wayne) of Mission, Kansas; a brother, Wayne Stoller (Betty) of Falls City, Nebraska; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be Friday, June 1, 2012 at the NorthRidge Church in Sabetha at 10:30 a.m. The family will greet friends Thursday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Popkess Mortuary Chapel in Sabetha. Interment will take place in the Sabetha Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sabetha Community Hospital, sent in care of the funeral home, 823 Virginia, Sabetha, KS 66534.
