Ina Kieny

Ina Kieny was born on March 1, 1916 the daughter of Bert Earl Dabler and Mae Hassett Sparling Dabler at Maysville, Missouri. She grew up in the Oneida area and attended school and graduated from Oneida High School. As a young girl she was very active in her school plays and the Methodist Church in Oneida, singing and playing the piano. She was united in marriage to Laurel A. Kieny, Sr. on June 5, 1946 at Las Vegas, Nevada. While raising 5 of her 7 children she went to college and received her LVN license and a degree. Then worked as such to continue to raise the children by herself for her husband had passed away.


Ina died on August 11, 2008 at the Apostolic Christian Home at the age of 92. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Laurel A. Kieny, Sr.; a son, Byford E. Edie, Jr.; a daughter, Betty Ramos; a brother, Arthur Dabler. She is survived by Cheryl Morrison and her husband, Dan of Estacada, Oregon, Cassandra Beer of Sabetha, Debrorah Sheltrown of Fairview and Marie Ybarra of Sabetha; one son, Laurel Kieny, Jr. and his wife, Lavella of Esparto, California and 19 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.


Funeral service will be Thursday evening, August 14, 2008 at 7:00 P.M. at the Popkess Mortuary Chapel in Sabetha. A family visitation will be Thursday evening 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The interment will be made in Vacaville, California.
