Jayce Bryant Meyer, 12, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2026.
Jayce was born on July 7, 2014, in Seneca, Kansas, the son of Dustin Meyer and Meghan Vernon. Jayce lived with his mother, Meghan, in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. He was preparing to attend Summit Lakes Middle School. Jayce was recognized by others for his kindness, compassion, and individuality. He had a particular appreciation for movies and music, especially music from the 1980s.
Jayce was a talented artist who enjoyed drawing his favorite cartoon characters. He loved participating in a local theater group, where he had recently performed in several plays. Jayce was blessed to find an amazing and supportive group of friends who embraced his creative expression and uniqueness.
Jayce was a shining light to everyone who loved him. He will forever be loved, cherished, and deeply missed by all who knew him.
Jayce leaves behind many loved ones including his mother, Meghan Vernon; his father, Dustin (Kim) Meyer; his three younger siblings, Brady, Aiden, and Isabelle Meyer; his maternal grandparents, Richard (Lori) Vernon; his paternal grandparents, Daylin (Amy) Meyer; his maternal great-grandparents, Kenneth (Sandra) Vernon and Marlin (Barb) Ronnebaum; his paternal great-grandparents, Gary Meyer, Larry (LaDonna) Meyers, and Phil (Kathy) Batt, and Marlene (Tom) Stanton; his maternal uncle, Ryan (Jill) Vernon; his two paternal aunts, Kameron Meyer and Jordanne (Tucker) Webb; his three cousins, Rhettlee Vernon, Jax Webb, and Tanner Jo Webb; and his numerous great-aunts and great-uncles.
Jayce will lie in state at the Centralia Community Church – West in Centralia, Kansas on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. On Wednesday evening at the church, the family will greet family and friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at the Centralia Community Church – West. Jayce will be laid to rest in the Centralia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial contributions be made to the NAAK (Neighborhood Arts Academy for Kids), sent in care of the Popkess Memorial Chapel, 814 Castle, Seneca, Kansas 66538.
