Jeanette Heiniger

July 9, 1931 — March 23, 2008

JEANETTE HEINIGER, 76, of Fairview, KS died on March 23, 2008 at a Topeka hospital. She was born in Shreveport, LA on July 9, 1931 to Jack and Dorothy Bonner Dyer. She attended Fair Park High School in Shreveport and after graduation worked as an administrative assistant.

Following a marriage to Peter Attarian, Jeanette was married on September 14, 1957 to Wayne Heiniger in Topeka, KS. The couple recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in September 2007. Jeanette was a long-term civil service employee holding various positions as an administrative assistant. Prior to retiring she last served as the executive secretary to the Director of NEK-CAP, Inc. During their marriage, Wayne and Jeanette resided in Topeka, Kansas prior to moving to Seneca, Kansas and finally Fairview, Kansas where they currently reside and farm. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Powhattan Methodist Church.

Jeanette is preceded in death by her mother Dorothy Dyer Duffy and sister Betty Cooksey. She is survived by her step father, Thomas Duffy of Sabetha, KS; husband, Wayne Heiniger of Fairview and her five children Howard Attarian and wife, Donna of Kirkland, WA, Rick Heiniger and wife, Debbie of Parkville, MO, Becky Clark and husband, Bernie of Holton, KS, Clif Heiniger and wife, Kathy of Fairview and Lisa Carney and husband, Terry of Topeka, KS. She is survived by 16 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 26, 2008 qt 11:00 A.M. at the Powhattan Methodist Church in Powhattan. A visitation will be Tuesday, March 25, 2008 from 6:30 until 8:00pm at the Popkess Mortuary Chapel in Sabetha and visitation one hour before service at the church. The interment will be in the Powhattan cemetery.
