John Strahm

John Carl Strahm was born on January 15, 1927, the son of Charley H. Strahm and Lydia Fanny (Moser) Strahm near Oneida, Kansas. He was the youngest of six children. Carl grew up in the Oneida area and attended school at Victor District #99. He lived and worked in the area surrounding Sabetha, Kansas for his entire life. Carl was united in marriage to Sharon Marie Feucht on October 11, 1969 at Lester, Iowa. Six sons were born to this union. Carl was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church since June 1973.

Carl died on August 6, 2010 at the Apostolic Christian Home, at the age of 83. He was preceded in death by his wife Sharon; his parents, Charley and Lydia Strahm; and five sisters, Leona Grimm, Alice Wittmer, Flora Metzger, Annabelle Bahr, and Ruth Prichard.

Carl is survived by his six sons, Tom and wife Carrie of Sabetha, Troy and wife Dawn of Bern, Trent and wife Rosie of Sabetha, Terry of Sabetha, Travis of Morris, Minnesota, Todd and wife Kara of Sabetha; eight grandchildren, Payton, Elliott, Vivian, Brendan, Gavin, Alli, Nyah and Malachi Strahm.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 9, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Apostolic Christian Church in Sabetha. The family will greet friends Sunday evening from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Popkess Mortuary Chapel in Sabetha. Interment will be held at the Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery in Sabetha. Memorial contributions may be made to the Apostolic Christian Home or Lakeside Terrace, sent in care of the funeral home.
