Joleta Forbes

Joleta Jane Forbes, 50, of Marysville, KS died suddenly at the Cambridge Place Nursing Home in Marysville on Sunday January 11, 2009.
She was born August 24, 1958 the daughter of Everett and Matilda (Lambert) McAtee in Axtell, KS. She attended local schools through the 11th grade when she married Edwin H. Forbes in Marysville, KS on December 2, 1976. They made their home in Marysville, KS.
Joleta worked as a Certified Nurses Assistant at local nursing homes in Marysville for several years and at the Super Eight Motel for several years, she also delivered the Topeka Capital newspaper for several years.
She is survived by her husband Ed Forbes of the home in Marysville; a son, Robert Forbes of the home; a daughter, Katherine Forbes also of the home; a brother Butch McAtee of Los Angeles, CA, Roger McAtee of Garden City, KS; and a sister Nettie Henz of Idaho.
She is preceded in death by a sister Valerie Ann McAtee;
Graveside services will be Friday, January 16, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Axtell, KS. Dennis Holst will conduct the services. Casket bearers are Robert Forbes, Dave Craig, Michael Roberts, William Lamb, Evan Brandt, John Esslinger and Melissa Musil.
She will lie in state at the Landreth-Popkess Funeral Home after noon on Thursday January 15 with a visitation from 6-8 that evening.
