Josephine Hartman

August 11, 1911 — March 22, 2007

Josephine Harriet Hartman was born on August 11, 1911 the daughter of Arthur Slater and Florence Fox Slater at Junction City, Kansas. She graduated from high school and attended nursing school. She was united in marriage to John V. Hartman on December 10, 1965 at Junction City, Kansas. Josephine worked in several positions in the health care field. In her younger years Josephine owned and operated a family grocery store in Junction City. Josephine enjoyed reading and traveling by R.V. Josephine was very active in the Baptist Church in Ingram, Texas.
Josephine died on March 22, 2007 at the Sabetha Manor at the age of 95. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John V. Hartman of May 27, 2001. She is survived by a son, William Kinkade and his wife, Marilyn of Abilene, Texas; two daughters, Sara Gum and her husband, Jack of Frankford, Delaware and Pat Henderson and her husband, Wayne of Sabetha, Kansas; a step-son, Marvin Hartman and his wife, Paula of Grand Junction, Colorado and 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
Cremation is planned. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date in Ramona, Kansas. The Popkess Mortuary in Sabetha is in charge of arrangements.
