Joy Bullock

August 29, 1928 — February 25, 2013

J oy Lou (Swisher) Bullock, 84, of Seneca, Kansas died Monday, February 25, 2013.  She was born August 29, 1928 in Onaga, KS, the daughter of John and Helen (Richardson) Swisher.  Sister of Jack, Wayne and Clayton Swisher, all of whom preceded her in death.

She was married to Robert L. Bullock of Vermillion for 24 years.  Joy raised her family in Topeka before moving to Lawrence, then Arizona and landed in Seneca where her three brothers then lived.

Joy enjoyed many sports, played them well and taught classes in fast pitch softball, bowling, tennis and golf. A lifetime member of the bowling, 600 Club.  She oil painted for several years and was known for her beautiful crochet work. Enjoyed dancing, singing and playing the guitar.  She worked many years for Capital Truck Line, it later merged into Graves Truck Line in Lawrence.  Joy was a Christian. She will be remembered for her laughter, energy, love of life and family. She will be greatly missed by many, she was a blessing to all who knew her.

She leaves behind three children, Dan Bullock of Seneca, KS, Sandra Shields of Chilhowee, MO and Kimberly Schell Jacobs of Andover, KS; grandchildren, Jennifer Monteil, Clint, Matthew and Clayton Bullock, Jacob, Alexander and Hannah Schell, and four great grandchildren.

Joy was cremated with a memorial service to be held at a later date.
