ulia Susan (Williamson) Dawdy, 75, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, February 23, 2015. Julia was born on November 17, 1939, to Arthur and Emma (Cochran) Williamson in Lathrop, Missouri.
Julia graduated from Lathrop High School with the class of 1957. She attended Northwest Missouri State and graduated in 1961 with a Bachelors of Science in Education degree. She taught Home Economics in Norcatur and Stanley, Kansas.
On June 2, 1968, Julia married the love of her life, Richard Dawdy. To this union were born two sons, Alex Dawdy and Ted Dawdy.
After starting a family, she became a devoted stay-at-home mother. Julia was a leader in both the Bern Lucky Shamrock 4-H Club and Better Homes Extension Unit. Later in life, she was the first librarian for the Bern Community Library.
Julia loved reading books. She especially loved spending time in God's word with daily Bible devotions. Julia was also a very devoted leader of the Women's Fellowship at church.
Julia was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years Richard, her parents, and a brother, Robert Williamson. She is survived by two sons: Alex Dawdy, with wife Carrie Dawdy and sons Cullin and Blaine, all of Sabetha; and Ted Dawdy with wife Angela Dawdy, a son Parker and daughter Piper, all of Manhattan, KS; and two sisters, Carol Williamson of Kearney, MO, and Eleanor Marcott of Rolla, MO.
Funeral service is Thursday, February 26, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the NorthRidge Church in Sabetha. A visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Popkess Mortuary Chapel in Sabetha. The interment will be made in the Bern Cemetery.
