Lena Brown

Lena M. Brown, 91 of Centralia, passed away Friday, November 13, 2009 at Eastridge Care Home.
Lena was born June 30, 1918 in Centralia the daughter of William Warrenburg and Louise Schober Warrenburg. Lena graduated from Centralia High School. She married Ralph R. Brown on March 17, 1940. They were Married 55 years. Ralph preceded her in death on July 4, 1995.
Lena was the librarian at the Centralia Library almost 51 years. During this time she also was the "Avon Lady" in the area for 20 years.
Lena was a member of the Centralia United Methodist Church.
Lena is survived by her brother Clifford D. Russell of Centralia and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, sister Mary and brother-in-law Gordon Griffiths.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 11:00 am at the United Methodist Church in Centralia. Rev. Deborah Hanes-Nelson will conduct the services. The organist is Janelle Glatczak. Casket bearers are Ron Griffith, Cody Russell, Kenton Russell, Kevin Russell, William Russell, Kaylor Talkington, Kyson Talkington and Bert Unger. Burial will be in the Centralia Cemetery in Centralia, KS.
The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall 30 minutes prior to service time.
Memorials are being left to the Centralia Library or the Centralia United Methodist Church.
