Leon Stoller

November 15, 1932 — December 8, 2007

Leon Duane Stoller was born on November 15, 1932 the youngest son of four children to George W. Stoller and Tillie Hartter Stoller in Sabetha, Kansas.

He attended Berwick Rural Grade School for four years. Leon helped his parents on the farm until 1948 when they moved into Sabetha. After his father died, Leon continued to live with his mothers, helping her and neighbors with mowing lawns and scooping snow until they moved to the Apostolic Christian Home in July of 1980.

Leon was then employed with the Nemaha County Training Center and thoroughly enjoyed caring for plants and doing other tasks for 25 years. Leon found satisfaction by delivering newspapers to the apartment residents, assisting home residents to the dining room and where ever he could lend a helping hand.

Leon attended the Apostolic Christian Church as long as his health permitted.

Leon died on December 8, 2007 at the Apostolic Christian Home at the age of 75 after a brief illness.

Leon was preceded in death by his parents, George in 1954 and Tillie in 1985; his sister, Lila Rokey in October of 2004; his brothers, Harlan Stoller in December of 2004 and George Stoller in March of 2007.

Leon will be greatly missed by his sister-in-law, Gwen Stoller and nieces and nephews and all who shared joking remarks with him.

Funeral services will be Friday, December 14, 2007 at 10:30 A.M. at the Bern Apostolic Christian Church. A visitation will be Thursday evening 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. at the Popkess Mortuary Chapel in Sabetha. The interment will be in the Sabetha Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Apostolic Christian Home or the Nemaha County Training Center sent in care of the funeral home.
