Leota Grimm
June 24, 1916 — June 15, 2008
Leota Louise Grimm, 91, of Sabetha, Kansas died on June 15, 2008 at the Sabetha Community Hospital.
She was born on June 24, 1916 in Sabetha, Kansas, the daughter of August Grimm and Louise Steiner Grimm.
Leota attended school at Franklin Rural District, east of Sabetha, Sabetha grade school and graduated from Fairview High School in 1936. Leota lived her entire life in the Sabetha and Fairview area.
Leota's mother passed away on December 22, 1933. After her mother's death, Leota remained with her father on the farm near Fairview. Later, in 1947, they moved to their farm south of Sabetha. August Grimm passed away on February 15, 1973.
Leota moved to Sabetha in 1974 where she lived until her death.
She was a faithful employee of the Brown County Infirmary of Hiawatha, Kansas for 18 � years as a Medical Charge Nurse.
Leota was a long time member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Sabetha. She served many happy years as a Sunday School Teacher. She was also responsible for cleaning the church for nearly 50 years. She was an active member of the Sabetha Hospital Guild as long as her health permitted.
Leota is survived by cousins and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at 10:30 A.M. at the Sabetha Apostolic Christian Church. A family visitation will be Monday evening 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. at the Popkess Mortuary Chapel in Sabetha. The interment will be in the Sabetha Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Apostolic Christian Home or the Sabetha Community Hospital sent in care of the funeral home.
