Linda M Huerter, 71, of Seneca, Kansas, passed away unexpectedly, surrounded by her family, on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas.
Linda was born on April 21, 1954, in Seneca, Kansas, to Paul and Evelyn (Sextro) Ronnebaum. On February 23, 1974, Linda married her lifelong partner, Richard “Rick” A. Huerter, in Seneca, where they resided for most of their marriage. Linda and Rick celebrated 51 wonderful years of marriage and were blessed with five children.
Over the years, Linda enjoyed ceramics, crafting, camping, and baking with her daughters and granddaughters. Linda also enjoyed traveling with her close friends and her sisters.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Stephanie Huerter, on March 2, 1996.
Linda is survived by her husband, Rick, at the home in rural Seneca; her four children, Colette (Jarbae) Allen of Goff, Kansas, Tom (Amy) Huerter of Goff, Kansas, Jennifer Bearce of Seneca, Kansas, and Stephen (Frankie) Huerter of Onaga, Kansas; her ten grandchildren, Tristan (Kelsy) Allen, Taylor (Tyler) Gyhra, Dalton Huerter, Brenden Bearce, Keirsten Huerter, Payton Huerter, Johnnie Bradley, Jonesie Huerter, Wilma June Huerter, and Jasper Huerter; her first great-granddaughter, Lainey Gyhra; and her four siblings, Diane (Robert) Rottinghaus of Kansas City, Missouri, Karen (Gary) Steinlage of Topeka, Kansas, David (Doris) Ronnebaum of Seneca, Kansas, and Ruth Olberding of Topeka Kansas.
A registration book will be available for the public to share condolences on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Popkess Memorial Chapel in Seneca. On Friday evening, a visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary prayed at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family requests casual dress. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to a charity yet to be designated by the family and sent in care of Popkess Memorial Chapel, 814 Castle Street, Seneca, Kansas 66538.
