Linda Landry

Linda K. (Gutknecht) Landry, 70, died on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Kaiser Permanente in Fresno, California.  

Linda was born on May 10, 1951, in Sabetha, Kansas the daughter of Max and Annie (Combs) Gutknecht.  She attended school in Sabetha and graduated from Sabetha High School in 1969.  On May 6, 1993, Linda married Stephen Landry at an ocean side service at the end of 17-Mile Drive in Monterey, California.  

Linda had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel.  She never encountered a stranger because she took the time to get to know everyone she met on a personal level.  Linda was an outgoing, warm, and caring person.  Linda loved her dogs, her family, and was an avid reader.  

Linda was preceded in death by her parents; and her two brothers, Kenneth and Lonny Gutknecht.  

Linda is survived by her husband, Stephen Landry of California; her siblings, Bill (Susan) Gutknecht of Idaho, Dale (Mary) Gutknecht of Bern, Kansas, Donald (Judi) Gutknecht of Louisiana, Lois (Bob) Drury of Lawrence, Kansas, Hugh Gutknecht of Nevada, Connie (Eric) Gish of North Carolina, Wanda (Tony) San Nicolas of Nevada, Samuel Gutknecht of Sabetha, and Sarah (Kevin) Wiltz of Sabetha; and her numerous nieces and nephews.  

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at the Crossroads Wesleyan Church in Sabetha, Kansas.  Following the service, a meal will be provided. Memorial contributions may be made to Elaine’s Pet Resorts (abandoned dogs and rehomed pets) in Fresno, California.  Family requests memorials to be sent in care of Popkess Mortuary, 823 Virginia, Sabetha, Kansas 66534.
