Lois Dandlilker

November 3, 1917 — October 18, 2007

Lois Gertrude Graff Dandliker was born on November 3, 1917 the daughter of James Graff and Anna Catherine Zillig Graff at Johnstown, Nebraska. She was one of four daughters born to this union.

Lois and her family moved to Kansas in May of 1922, moving to Havensville, Kansas. She grew up in the Havensville area and graduated from Havensville High School in 1935. She started her teaching career at American City in 1935. She then attended Emporia State Teachers College and then finished her teaching education at Peru State Teachers College. She then taught school at Excelsior School for 6 years and then at the Morrill School for 13 years and then the Sabetha School System for 22 years. She had a total of 30 years teaching and retired on May 28, 1982.

She was united in marriage to William "Bill" Dandliker on March 28, 1951 at Corning, Kansas. They lived and farmed northwest of Sabetha on the Dandliker family farm. Lois and Bill moved to Sabetha and lived there until their deaths. Lois was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Berwick Home F.C.E. Unit and the Kansas Teacher's Association. Lois volunteered at the Cobblestone Court and loved to due sewing and quilting.

Lois died on October 18, 2007 at the Sabetha Community Hospital at the age of 89. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William "Bill" Dandliker on April 11, 1991. She is survived by three sisters, Vivian Venneberg of Holton, Kansas, Edna Mills of Lawrence, Kansas and Margaret Anne Osterhaus of Topeka, Kansas and 3 nephews and 1 niece.

Mass of Christian Burial will be recited on Monday, October 22, 2007 at 10:30 A.M. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sabetha. A family meal will follow the service and the burial will be at 1:15 P.M. in Dawson, Nebraska. A parish rosary will be recited on Sunday evening at 6:00 P.M. with visitation to follow until 8:00 P.M. at the Popkess Mortuary in Sabetha. The interment will be in the Saint Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery in Dawson, Nebraska. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sabetha Community Hospital or the Mary Cotton Public Library sent in care of the funeral home.
