Marjorie Howard (McNees) Hallier

Marjorie Howard (McNees) Hallier, 99, of Centralia, Kansas, died on Friday, February 23, 2024, at the Eastridge Nursing Facility in Centralia and went home to be with Jesus.

Marjorie was born to Howard McNees and Claudia Jewell (Trammel) McNees on April 12, 1924. Marjorie, her brother, Gerald, and her sister, Lucille, were raised by their beloved mother.  As a child, Marjorie loved being outdoors, and she could often be found in her big tree reading a book.  She loved horses, tennis, and dancing.

As a young lady, Marjorie attended Oklahoma University, where she was charmed by a Texan named Huffman Walker.  Before her children were born, Marjorie worked for a short time for American Airlines, an opportunity that allowed her to travel to places like New York City, and be photographed with numerous celebrities.  Marjorie and Huffman, as a married couple, created a son, Huffman Reed Walker, and a daughter, Rhonda Jean Walker.

Marjorie became Mrs. Carl Lindberg for a time, bearing a son, Gregory Kirk, who passed away in 2016.  Then, Otto Hallier entered Marjorie’s life.  Marjorie worked as an executive secretary for Caterpillar Tractor.  Otto and Marjorie married, and Otto and his three sons from a previous marriage, Timothy, Leslie, and Mark, joined the family.

When they retired, Otto and Marge built a lovely home in Centralia from which they often traveled throughout the United States.  They created Bioform which was a successful business venture.  After Otto’s passing, Marjorie sold the family home but stayed in Centralia, a community that she had grown to love.  She was a devout Christian, a kind human being, an energetic and pretty woman, and the best mother any child could dream of.  Marjorie will be dearly missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all those who knew her.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the Havensville Christian Church in Havensville, Kansas.
