Marjorie Mock

M arjorie “Marge” Mock, 95, of Sabetha died Sunday, August 17, 2014, at the Sabetha Community Hospital.

Marjorie Gosche was born September 22, 1918, in Mitchell, South Dakota, where she also attended grade school and high school. After graduation, she attended St. Benedict College in Minnesota for two years; she then attended Chillicothe, Missouri Business School for one year, where she met Raymond “Babe” Lines.

Marge and “Babe” were married a year later on November 13, 1939. Together they owned and operated the Sabetha Seed House for many years. They had one daughter, Leslie Lines.

After “Babe” died in 1964, Marge continued to pursue her business degree at Peru State College in Nebraska and graduated in 1966. She then taught for three years in Morrill and Sabetha.

On September 22, 1969, Marge married Max Mock of Sabetha. He died February 15, 1990.

Also preceding her in death were her twin sister, Margaret; three brothers, Ed, Bob and Richard; two stepsons, Jack and Jim Mock; and a step great-grandson, Mitch Pugh.

Survivors include her daughter, Leslie Lines of Overland Park; her niece, Peggy Domina of Dallas, Texas; a nephew, Brad Gosche (Faye), and children Kim and Kurt; a niece, Gerry Gosche, and children, Megan and Erin of Seattle, Washington; three stepdaughters, Jeannine Mock of Overland Park, Vernelle Mock of Sabetha and Mary Ann Mock of Topeka; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Greg (Deann) Mock, Jody (Bill) Pugh, Debbie (Rod) Bennett, Cheri (Ray) Lundin, Jamie (Paul) Boring, Brad (Christina) Mock, Jack and Jake Mock, Scott Pugh, Jim (Judy) Bennett, Katherine Bennett, Khrysti Bennett and Jessica Lundin.

A visitation was held at Popkess Mortuary in Sabetha on Aug. 20, 2014. The Mass of Christian Burial was held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sabetha on Aug. 21, 2014, officiated by Father Barry Clayton. Inurnment was made in the Sabetha Cemetery. Memorials are to the Sabetha Community Hospital and the Mary Cotton Public Library, sent in care of Popkess Mortuary.
