Marvin E. Lamparter was born on October 1, 1928 the son of Frederick and Johanna (Wenger) Lamparter at Sabetha, Kansas. After graduating from Sabetha High School he entered the United States Army. He was discharged from the Army in 1952 and served in the reserves until 1957. After his time in the service Marvin operated a repair shop in Sabetha where he sold, and repaired lawn equipment. He then moved to the Kansas City area where he worked for a manufacturing company. After retirement he returned to Sabetha. Marvin was a very private and independent person who was not afraid of manual labor. He loved his God, gardening, and enjoyed walking the streets of Sabetha.


Marvin died on March 1, 2010 at the Sabetha Community Hospital at the age of 81. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Calvin. He is survived by two sisters, Marian Alderman of Pueblo, Colorado and Eva Mosiman and her husband, Louis of Topeka, Kansas, and many nieces and nephews.


Funeral service will be Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Popkess Mortuary Chapel in Sabetha. The internment will be made in the Sabetha Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sabetha Community Hospital, P.O. Box 229 or the Apostolic Christian Home, 511 Paramount, sent in care of the funeral home.
