Mary Jerome

September 29, 1919 — February 15, 2007

Mary Helen Jerome, 87, formerly of the Goff area, died Thursday, February 15, 2007 at the Golden Acres Nursing Home in Onaga.
She was born September 29, 1919 at Centralia the daughter of Otis Little and Mabel McDonald Little. She attended Centralia schools through the eighth grade.
She was married to Louis Jerome May 19, 1935 in Holton, Kansas. He preceded her in death July 24, 2006. She had worked at the SlimMaker's Dress Factory in Holton for 20 years. She had also worked at SKF, formerly known as CR Industries, Seneca for five years.
Mrs. Jerome is survived by four daughters, Marilyn Fund, Kansas City, Missouri, Helen Slattery, Mayetta, RaEtta McKinnon, Newton and Della Steinlage, Topeka; two sons, Kenneth Jerome, Circleville and Louis D. Jerome, Roeland Park, Kansas; two sisters, Anna Anderson, Oregon and Dorothy Handley, Independence, Missouri; a brother, Leslie Little, Centralia; 18 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and 12 step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Richard Jerome in September 2004; a granddaughter, Julie Jerome; and three brothers, Donald Little, Max Little and Pat Little.
Graveside services were Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at the Fairview Cemetery, Goff. A visitation was held prior to the service from 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. at the Hayes-Popkess Funeral Home, Centralia. Raymond Berry presided over the services. Casket bearers were C.W. Moreland, David Beam, Ed Gable, Brian Flott, Chad Lee, and Jeff Tylicki.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Midland Hospice and sent in care of the funeral home.
Hayes-Popkess Funeral Home in Centralia is in charge of arrangements.
