Mary Eleanor (Warrick) Plattner, 95, of Sabetha, Kansas died Saturday, October 8, 2022, at the Apostolic Christian Home in Sabetha.
Mary was born October 21, 1926, to Oth and Lois (Turner) Warrick of Bern, Kansas. She was united in marriage to Ben Plattner on June 22, 1946, and they were married for over 60 years before Ben’s death in 2006. They had three children, Jan, Rick, and Steve.
After Mary graduated from high school, she worked at Greene’s Drug Store in Sabetha. After she married, she worked part-time as a bookkeeper for Brey Chevrolet and many years at the Apostolic Christian Home. Besides supporting Ben as his partner on the farm, Mary was an excellent seamstress and made many clothes for herself and Jan. She was also a superb cook and made pies, cakes, and many delicious meals over the years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
She is survived by her daughter, Jan (Mike) Marker of New Mexico; her two sons, Rick (Debbie) Plattner of Colorado; and Steve (Becky) Plattner of Sabetha; her five granddaughters, Danielle (Chris) Alex and Rachelle (Ryan) Oppel of Texas, Kelly (Justin) Oaks, Megan Plattner, and Courtney Plattner of Kansas; her six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
