Mary "Betty" Meyer

August 23, 1922 — July 24, 2007

Mary "Betty" Elizabeth Meyer was born on August 23, 1922 the daughter of Bruce Beecher Brower and Mary Margaret Searing Brower at Centralia, Kansas. She was one of seven children born to this union. She grew up in the Centralia area and attended Centralia school and graduated from Centralia High School. She was united in marriage to Joy Lee Meyer on August 23, 1942 at Seneca, Kansas. Five children were born to this union.

Mary died on July 24, 2007 at the Sabetha Manor at the age of 84. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joy Lee Meyer; one son, Roger Lee Meyer; three brothers, William Paul Brower, Robert Bruce Brower and Richard Eugene Brower; a granddaughter, Hillary R. Allen. She is survived by one daughter, Janice Kay Allen and her husband, Frederick of Nemaha, Nebraska; three sons, Larry D. Meyer and his wife, Joyce of Sabetha, Kansas, Billy J. Meyer of Fairview, Kansas and David D. Meyer and his companion Patty of Morrill, Kansas; two brothers, Raymond Claire Brower and his wife, Julia of Frankfort, Kansas and Bennett Earl Brower and his wife, Shirley of Topeka, Kansas; one sister, Opal Mae Nixon and her husband, Don of Manhattan, Kansas and 11 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

A family visitation will be Friday, July 27, 2007 from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M. with a memorial service at 8:30 P.M. at the Popkess Mortuary Chapel in Sabetha with visitation to follow. Graveside services Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at 7:00 P.M. at the Oneida Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Nemaha County Home Health & Hospice or the Nurses Aide Education Fund % Sabetha Manor sent in care of the funeral home.
