Mildred Livengood

July 23, 1910 — December 27, 2008

Mildred Lee Livengood was born near Morrill, Kansas on July 23, 1910. She was raised in a Christian home and baptized at the Morrill Baptist Church at an early age. This has been her home church for more than 85 years.

On May 21, 1934 she married Francis "Dick" Livengood, also a native of the Morrill community. They were married for 61 years and farmed in the area from 1934 to 1967 and later moved to Morrill.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband Francis; her parents, Silas Eugene and Lucinda (McKim) Lee; a brother, Oakley; a sister, Agnes Scott; and a niece, Laeta Fredlund.

Survivors include her brother Robert E. Lee of Battle Ground, Washington; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close friends.

As Mildred goes home to be with her Lord, an important mantle is passed in the Morrill community. For years Mildred was honored as the "Most Senior" alum at the Morrill High School Reunions. Now that honor has been replaced with something she considered more dear, an embrace from her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Popkess Mortuary Chapel in Sabetha. A visitation will be held Tuesday evening 6:00 - 8:00 at the funeral home. The interment will be at the Morrill Cemetery. Memorials are being left to the Morrill Baptist Church, and are being sent in care of the funeral home.
